ESKY Tuning Tool Driver Installation Manual
1. Overview
The ESKY tuning tool (part no. ESKY008628) is the bridge between ESKY fixed-wing flight controllers and your computer. It uses a CP210x USB-to-UART (serial) chip, so your computer must have the Silicon Labs CP210x driver installed before the tuning software (host application) can communicate with the flight controller.
This manual guides you through downloading, installing, and verifying the driver on Windows 10 / 11. The whole process takes about 5–10 minutes.

2. Driver Installation Steps (Main Video Workflow)
- Open the official ESKY website (esky-rc.com.cn) and go to the "ESKY tuning software download and usage" page.
- Download the new version driver
CP210x_Universal_Windows_Driver-2024.zip. - Right-click the ZIP file → Extract All, and extract it to an easy-to-find location (e.g.
D:\CP210x).
⚠️ Extract first, then install — do not operate from inside the ZIP preview window.
- Connect the Micro-USB port on the top surface of the flight controller board to the ESKY tuning tool (
ESKY008628); the tuning tool then connects via its USB cable. - Slide the switch on the tuning tool to the [USB] position (communication fails if it is in the charge position).
- Use a Micro-USB data cable to connect the tuning tool to a USB port on your computer.
- Right-click the Start menu button → click Device Manager.
- After plugging in the tuning tool, watch the device list. Without a driver, an "Unknown device / USB Serial Port" with a yellow warning icon usually appears under Other devices, or an abnormal entry shows up under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
- Remember this abnormal entry — it is the tuning tool without its driver.

- In Device Manager, right-click the device with the warning icon → select Update driver.
- In the pop-up window, choose Browse my computer for drivers.
- Click Browse, navigate to the root folder of the driver extracted in Step 1 (e.g.
D:\CP210x), keep "Include subfolders" checked, and click Next. - Windows searches and installs the driver automatically; click "Install / OK" if a security prompt appears.
- Wait until "The driver has been successfully updated" appears.
- Return to Device Manager and expand Ports (COM & LPT).
- If "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COMx)" appears (the COM number such as COM3 or COM5 varies by computer) with no yellow warning icon — the driver is installed successfully.
- Right-click the device → Properties → General tab: "This device is working properly" confirms everything is fine.
3. Backup Option: Old-Version Driver (.exe One-Click Install)
If the driver still does not work after Section 2 (mostly on older Windows 10 or some Windows 11 PCs):
- Download the old-version driver ZIP (esky-sz.cn link, see table in 1.2).
- Extract it and find the
.exeinstaller in the folder. - Double-click to run it and follow the wizard through "Next / OK" to finish (right-click → "Run as administrator" if necessary).
- After installation, unplug and re-plug the tuning tool, then verify the COM port as in Step 5.
4. Troubleshooting

Use the officially signed new driver from the ESKY website first; only consider temporarily disabling driver signature enforcement (Advanced startup → Startup Settings → Disable enforcement) as a last resort, at your own risk. |

5. After the Driver: Tuning Software Usage Notes
- Download and install the ESKY fixed-wing flight controller host application (tuning software) FXZ.02.01.04 (Windows 10 or later, switchable between Chinese and English) from the official "ESKY tuning software download and usage" page.
- Connect the aircraft to the computer via the tuning tool, then open the host application; if it prompts "software version mismatch / outdated", click "OK" → the [Upgrade] button in the top-right corner → keep clicking OK and wait for the automatic upgrade to finish.
- ⚠️ On first use, you must perform a transmitter (remote control) calibration in the calibration interface (official requirement).
- Adjust servos and run tests in 3-axis (Hi) mode. In self-stabilizing (6-axis) mode the flight controller automatically corrects attitude, causing large servo movements — this is normal but misleading.
- On the ground, after moving the sticks and releasing them, servos return to center "slowly" — this is normal.
- Open-source transmitter users: create a new model, clear all mixes and throttle-cut settings, and set channels 8–20 to min/max travel = 0 (output only 1500); otherwise servo travel may be abnormal.
